Local Legend devoted to the community 

This memorial, titled Pay Attention, was commissioned to honor Pastor Ron, a neighborhood hero and local legend whose life and work left an indelible mark on the community. Pastor Ron dedicated himself to uplifting those around him, providing guidance, support, and a sense of belonging to generations of neighbors and parishioners. The work features a sandblasted image of Pastor Ron on clear plexiglass, layered with quotes and words he often used, as well as phrases the community emphasized to capture his spirit. These words float alongside his likeness, creating a visual dialogue between the man and the values he embodied. Color-changing LEDs illuminate the plexiglass, casting a dynamic, shifting glow that reflects the energy, passion, and enduring presence Pastor Ron brought to the neighborhood.

The piece is framed in bulky chrome, a bold and modern counterpoint to the clarity of the plexiglass. The combination of materials, light, and text transforms the memorial into a living tribute, inviting reflection, remembrance, and a deep sense of connection to the community he nurtured.

Titled after one of his most famous catch phrases, Pay Attention, the memorial encourages viewers to pause, reflect, and engage with both Pastor Ron’s legacy and the community he helped shape.
